Pray for the enactment of the Conscience Protection Act; contact legislators
Monday, 12 March 2018, has been designated by the USCCB as the day for Catholics in our country to pray for the enactment of the Conscience Protection Act, and also to call or email their representatives in Congress, urging them to include it in the fiscal year 2018 funding bill.
Please exhort the people you serve to take action, providing them with these instructions in a bulletin or a handout:
“On Monday, 12 March 2018, please phone 202-224-3121 (not a toll-free number) to connect with your Senator and Representative. Then, leave this or a similar message:
“The Conscience Protection Act should be included in the fiscal year 2018 funding bill. It is urgently needed to safeguard against people being forced to violate their principles regarding the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception.
“If you prefer you can email the same message on your Senator’s and Representative’s website (www.senate.gov; www.house.gov).”
